History:
Kate had been itching to jump lately. The problem? None of her horses were jumpers. In fact, all of them loathed jumping and were much more at home in a dressage court, executing precise, elegant movements on the ground. While Kate loved dressage and had a ton of appreciation and ambition for it, she couldn't help but miss jumping. A lot. At her core, she really was an eventer and it was what she had grown up doing. That was why she found herself in her current position. She was headed out to look at a Thoroughbred filly that was for sale, and she couldn't help but want to buy it sight unseen just because she was dying for a horse to event with. Hopefully, this filly would be a good find and fit with her. Granted, the little girl was still quite young, but Kate wasn't averse to picking up some youngsters now and waiting a while before they were ready to really go eventing. Patience and good training would go a long way, and with a foal she didn't have anything to undo; always a plus.

She pulled her truck and trailer into the driveway of the farm, GHS Gryphon Stables and parked next to the other trailers that were behind one of the barns. As she got out of her truck, Kate pulled out her camera and locked the doors, then looked around for the office, where she was supposed to meet Cal, the owner. Spotting it off to her right, Kate made a beeline for the door when Cal stepped right out. Cal grinned and offered a hand to Kate, who took it and grinned. "Well, I'm ready to go see her!"

She was led around the barn and towards one of the paddocks where a lovely, dark coloured filly frolicked around her buckskin splash dam. The filly was already tall for her age with good bone. Her legs looked super, even at a distance and Kate couldn't help the welling of excitement as she watched the filly snort at anything that moved. "Her name is Gracie," Cal said conversationally. Kate nodded without answering, her eyes lit up with what could only be called desire as she watched the filly. Gracie took off at a ground covering canter, racing around her mother and then pealing off towards a small log in the field. Kate held her breath as the little filly soared over it without blinking.

"I'll take her," Kate said, turning to Cal with a grin.
